FINNISH WOOD AS RAW MATERIAL

The annual use of Sahakuutio's raw material is 200 000 m3. The raw material is procured within a radius of about 100 kilometers from the production plant, from Finnish certified forests. In the procurement of wood, we follow a certified wood origin management system (PEFC ST 2002:2020). The distribution of raw material by tree species is 50 % pine, 50 % spruce.

We buy our raw materials from different suppliers, but we also buy wood directly from private forest owners. It is very important for sustainable development to implement timely and correct management measures and environmental issues into account, this way Sahakuutio Oy is contributing to the use of Finnish wood in various ways.
